Mr. Ghulam Nabi Mahar
Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning
Ghulam Nabi is an accomplished Environmental Science professional with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in environmental data analysis and sustainability. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research on the Design and Analysis of Multi-story Buildings under Extreme Loads, utilizing ETABS software to analyze structural behavior in response to seismic and wind forces. This work contributed to optimizing building member sizes for enhanced safety and resilience.
In his master’s program, Ghulam Nabi focused on groundwater analysis and environmental health risk assessment. His thesis titled Evaluation, Mapping, and Health Risk Assessment of Groundwater in Sanghar District involved an in-depth analysis of water quality parameters, the computation of Water Quality Index (WQI), and the development of hazard maps using Quantum Global Information System (QGIS). His research highlighted the risks associated with arsenic contamination and provided vital insights for mitigating health risks related to groundwater consumption.
Professionally, Ghulam Nabi has been a key member of the academic community at Aror University since 2023, where he teaches courses in Environmental Science and supervises undergraduate thesis projects. His role also involves continuous professional development, community outreach, and promoting environmental awareness. Previously, he served as a Lab Engineer at Isra University Hyderabad from 2019 to 2023, where he taught subjects including Soil Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, and Hydrology.
With over four years of teaching experience, Ghulam Nabi combines his technical expertise in Python, QGIS, ETABS, and data science with his passion for environmental sustainability. His ongoing research includes air quality analysis, groundwater quality studies, and hydrological modeling, where he utilizes tools like Python and remote sensing to drive innovative environmental solutions. His commitment to fostering a sustainable future makes him an invaluable asset to the Department of Environmental Science at Aror University.
