Assistant Professor
Faculty of Architecture, Sciences, Engineering and Town Planning
Muneer Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at The Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage. With a strong background in structural engineering and infrastructure monitoring, his research focuses on the application of advanced digital technologies, particularly computer vision and machine learning, for non-invasive inspection and maintenance of infrastructure, such as bridges and other critical structures. Dr. Ahmed is committed to developing innovative solutions for the sustainable management of civil infrastructure, using data-driven approaches to improve the efficiency and safety of infrastructure systems.

Dr. Ahmed did his PhD at Roma Tre University, Italy, where his research addressed the use of digital technologies for real-time monitoring of infrastructure. He also holds a Master’s in Structural Engineering from Tianjin University, China, where his work explored the behaviour of composite concrete structures under various loads. After that he worked as Research assistant at Zhejiang University, China and worked on different innovative projects.

His research interests include the integration of smart technologies in infrastructure management, the development of non-invasive inspection techniques, and the application of machine learning algorithms for structural health monitoring. Dr. Ahmed is particularly interested in exploring how digital tools can support the sustainable and cost-effective maintenance of aging infrastructure in urban environments.

In addition to his research, Dr. Ahmed is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of engineers. His teaching philosophy centers on fostering critical thinking, practical problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of the integration of technology in modern engineering practices.

Dr. Ahmed is actively engaged in collaborative research projects and has published in several prominent journals on topics related to structural health monitoring, smart infrastructure, and the sustainable design of engineering systems.

His research interests are visual health monitoring of structures by using advance methods, remote sensing, vibration analysis, finite element modelling (FEM) and Sustainable Construction.
