Dr. Wazir Ali is Assistant Professor in the department of Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Media & Gaming (MMG). Before Joining Aror University, he served as Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Head of Data Science Program at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi. Dr. Wazir Ali received his Ph.D degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Computer Science and Engineering and postdoctoral fellowship from the Turku University, Finland. He has outstanding research experience. His primary research interests include natural language processing, large language models. His research papers have been published in scientific journals and top Natural Language Processing (NLP) conferences including the Association of Computational Linguistics (ACL), Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC), and Workshop on Computational Approaches to Subjectivity, Sentiment and Social Media Analysis (WASSA). One of his paper was nominated for the best paper award in Student Research Workshop Associated with Recent Advances in Natural Language Processing (RANLP-2021). His two datasets, namely SiNER and SdSenti, have been integrated into Stanford University’s open-source NLP toolkit, Stanza. He is a member of the Neural Network Society (NNS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). Dr. Wazir Ali is serving as part of the scientific committee at WASSA and Insights (2022-2024) conferences. He is also serving as a reviewer of various scientific journals in the area of Natural Language Processing.
