Allama Iqbal Day Celebration at Aror University

The Students Council, Debate and Literary Society of Aror University Sukkur organized an event to celebrate Allama Iqbal Day under the inspiring theme “Iqbal’s Vision: Reawakening the Youth.” The event aimed to pay tribute to the great philosopher, poet, and thinker Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal and to reflect on his timeless message of self-awareness, faith and empowerment of youth.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests. Prof. Ghulam Hussain Manganhar honoured the event as the Chief Guest, while Dr Khalid Shafi attended as the Guest of Honour. Esteemed faculty members including Dr Qasim Sodhar, Dr Zameer Abro, Dr Faheem Akhtar and Ms Fatima Dayo joined the gathering, adding to the academic and intellectual spirit of the occasion.

The competition segment of the event featured English and Urdu Speech and Poetry contests, where talented students expressed their admiration for Iqbal’s philosophy and his vision for a progressive Muslim youth. The speeches were evaluated by a panel of judges including Ms Shaista Murtaza, Ms Rizwana Bashir and Ms Nayab Wahid, who appreciated the participants for their eloquence and understanding of Iqbal’s ideology. The Mentor of the Debate and Literary Society, Mr Zubair Ahmed guided and encouraged the students ensuring its success and smooth organization.

Towards the end of the program, shields and certificates were distributed among the position holders and participants. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all guests, organizers and participants, leaving a strong message to uphold Iqbal’s vision and continue striving for excellence and self-discovery.
