Aror University Sukkur in collaboration with Women Protection Cell (WPC) Sukkur hosted a session on “Empowering Women, Ensuring Safety.” The Chief Guest, Syed Pir Muhammad Shah, PSP, DIG Sukkur was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice Chancellor, Aror University Sukkur.

Ms. Rukhsana Mangi, In-charge of Women Protection Cell (WPC), engaged with students, introduced them to Women Protection App & its uses. The session was moderated by Ms.Uzma Khatoon, Student Counsellor Aror University that aimed to raise awareness & understanding of safety measures available to women in the region.

During his address, DIG Sukkur interacted with the students, highlighting the online complaint and response mechanisms, assuring the safety and security of complainants. He emphasized the importance of reducing the gap between law enforcement agencies and the community.

Prof. Dr Zahid Hussain Khand shared his inspiring views on support and encouragement that male family members can provide to female members.

Dr. Qasim Sodhar, Head Faculty of Heritage, concluded the session and discussed the HEC policy on anti-sexual harassment and legislation regarding women’s protection passed by the Sindh Assembly.

In a symbolic gesture of environmental commitment, DIG Sukkur planted a tree and appreciated the “Go Green Aror” initiative led by the university leadership.
