Mission of Program

Developing the professionals who understand and present architecture as a theoretically based, reflective field of art, culture, and technology. The program aims to furnish the skills and capabilities to provide architectural solutions which overcome spatial and social issues considering the climatic and global needs along with encouraging the regional and vernacular design systems.

Program Introduction

The main goal of the Program, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is to provide students familiarity of the manual and digital tools to produce designs that are socially and environmentally feasible. The program’s focus would also include the local arts and crafts and nearby heritage sites.

Similar to the concepts of Bauhaus, Foundation year focuses on building the student’s manual and crafting skills. For this purpose, the courses interdisciplinary with visual arts and design are introduced. It also provides the opportunity to explore their creative ability by performing those skills. Courses of 3rd and 4th semester include advanced awareness about learning through equipment and technics. It helps students to further upgrade their thinking abilities and furnish their skills. The 5th and 6th semester focus on designing while considering the regional context including the local materials and architecture which produce environmental and user-friendly aspects. Whereas the semesters of 4th and 5th year focus on eco-friendly, green Architecture and project dealing basics along with legal aspects in professional practice.

Scope of the Program

After completing the program, students shall have flexible career choices in the fields of Construction engineering, Structure design, Interior design, graphics design, Industrial design, Urban planning, Heritage Conservation and Environment Design etc. The program offers a student-centric approach to prepare socially responsible architects who can lead in both domestic and foreign architectural institutions and organizations. The program also emphasizes developing critical thinking, professional competence, and creative skills which provides capability to work on the design, innovation, and evolution processes. Through the inclusion of electives and interactive teaching methods, candidates shall be able to implement environment friendly design solutions to resolve the issues on climate and global crisis.

PEO 01 Prepare students towards a competitive architectural profession through polishing creative abilities, critical thinking, analytical skills & best practices.
PEO 02 Enabling to understand the significance of interdisciplinary & cross- cutting knowledge areas to cater global needs & appreciate diversity in professional practices.
PEO 03 Developing communication skills for the exchange of information, ideas, research contributions regarding architectural and real metropolitan issues and ever evolving challenges hence improving quality of life.
PEO 04 To be able to participate in policy / decision making forums, assuming leadership roles thus contributing to community development and service through novel concepts for preservation & conservation of archaeological heritage and future architectural development of region and beyond

PLOs are the narrower proclamations that explain what the students are expected to learn and be competent to perform during graduation. These narrate the skills, knowledge, and approach that students gain during the program.
PLO 01 Creative Abilities: Will be able to provide innovative design ideas through understanding design fundamentals and geometric aspects.
PLO 02 Analytical and Critical Skills: Will have ability to observe, assess and interpret the design of existing architecture and present suggestions for improvement.
PLO 03 Visual/Oral Communication Skills: Will be able to present design to audience by oral communication as well as through different visual mediums.
PLO 04 Technology Application for Design: Will use appropriate technologies required for professional practice in addition to efficient design.
