1st meeting of the Board of Studies for the BS Visual Arts Program of Faculty of Photography, Fine and Performing Arts held on June 05, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Executive Conference Hall, Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design, and Heritage, Sukkur. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the Visual Arts program, its Mission, introduction, PEOs, and PLOs along with the Proposed Scheme of Studies with courses and course codes to improve according to the HEC standards and latest policies for quality Art & Design Education in the region and beyond.
The meeting was chaired by the Program In-charge Mr. Musadiq Badar in which the experts were called for an online interactive discussion session. The external members for the BoS of Visual Arts program included one Expert and three members from the field of Art & Design all serving academia. Prof. Dr. Riffat Saif Dar (Chairperson of the Research Centre of Art and Design in the Institute Design and Visual Arts, LCWU contributed as Expert of Art & Design whereas Mr. Ahmed Faraz (Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Communication & Design, Director QEC, University of Home Economics Lahore), Mr. Wajahit Ali (Assistant Professor, In charge Institute of Art & Design, GC University, Faisalabad) and Mr. Fazal Ellahi Khan (Assistant Professor, Fine Arts, SABS University of Art, Design & Heritages Jamshoro), contributed as learned members.
Other notable members included Dr. Samina Zia Sheikh (Associate Professor, Look after Dean/In-Charge FP2A) and Mr. Ali Murtaza (Lecturer FP2A) who welcomed and appreciated suggestions and recommendations of all external experts and participated in elucidation that how Scheme of Studies of Visual Arts programs of FP2A is designed in line with NCRC-HEC’s framework that will in future facilitate Associate Degree Program at FP2A. Chair, Mr. Musadiq Badar as well as Dr. Samina Zia Sheikh thanked all members for giving their precious time and showing their professional concern with which they gave valuable recommendations for the improvements in offered program with a visionary approach.
First Board of Studies of Visual Arts meeting concluded with lot of appreciation by the expert Prof. Dr Rifaat Saif Dar and other members who expressed that as they have seen BoS documents of many other public sector universities’ Art & Design departments but FP2A’s document is the best out of all, as it will also cater ADP without any difficulties.
The meeting served as a strong foundation due to exceptional vision of experts that were dedicated to provide students a strong underpinning in Visual Arts. The Board of Studies meeting ended with a renewed sense of rationale, knowing that all the members played an instrumental role in shaping the future of the students in Faculty of Photography, Fine and Performing Arts at Aror University. Their collaborative efforts ensured that the BS. Visual Arts program would offer a comprehensive and relevant education, empowering students to pursue their artistic aspirations with confidence and dexterously.
