Mission Statement of the Program
To provide quality education for producing environmentalists, capable of devising innovative
solutions for environmental challenges, conservation of natural resources and contribute in making
environmental policies to achieve sustainable development goals to improve life, through best
practices, integration of multidisciplinary approaches, and applied research.
Program Introduction
Environmental Sciences is a 4-year degree program under the faculty of Architecture and Town
planning. The Program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and passion
necessary to address environmental challenges at local, regional, and global scales. Through a
comprehensive curriculum, students will gain a deep understanding of environmental issues,
conservation strategies, sustainable development, and the integration of scientific research in
environmental decision-making. With experienced and highly qualified faculty, state-of-the-art
facilities, and a focus on hands-on learning, our program aims to nurture the next generation of
environmental leaders and professionals. Join us as we strive to make a positive impact on our planet
and create a sustainable future for all. The scheme of studies for all the programs are completely in
line with HEC guidelines provided in the latest NCRC.
Scope of the Program
Environmental Sciences is a challenging and important field of science. Environmental degradation has
occurred over time due to population explosion, over-exploitation increasing land use, lack of environmental
awareness, climatic shift, etc. due to which it is nowadays a global issue of concern. The waste accumulation
has caused contamination of soil, water bodies, and groundwater causing direct and indirect impacts on human
health. Industrial emissions have led to the suspension of hazardous particulate matter and atmospheric
pollution. The study of the environment plays a crucial role in addressing environmental issues by fostering
the development of cleaner technologies, raising widespread environmental awareness among the masses,
conserving natural resources, and facilitating global collaboration to establish effective environmental
governance laws and policies. These initiatives are necessary to combat climate change and achieve
sustainable development goals.
