Introduction
The Pakistan Studies Program offers a BS four-year degree program. The faculty members in the
department are highly qualified and immensely motivated to ensure quality education in the
region. As university programs are interconnected, an interdisciplinary approach is adopted to
interact with different faculties, their teaching methods and learning techniques. In this way,
students will be able to grasp opportunities to polish their skills and thrive in different fields. The
classrooms at the faculty are equipped with modern technological facilities and decorated with
different maps, buildings, and personalities of Pakistan for inspiration to achieve their goals. The
Faculty of Heritage has a very beautiful library with a huge collection of books. The graduates of
the Program will have career-orientated opportunities in academic and other professional fields.
Vision Statement
The Pakistan Studies Program aims to engage students in the pursuit of knowledge about history, languages, literature, arts, customs, traditions, social norms, economy, politics, and aspirations of the people of different regions of Pakistan. The Program further intends to develop critical thinking and complex reasoning of Pakistan through applications of multiple approaches by analyzing the history, politics, economy, and society of Pakistan. This will help the students to meet the regional, national, and global socio-economic and political challenges. It aims to help students shine in their academic research and pursue their careers in academia, civil services and other fields as helping hands to serve the country.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Pakistan Studies Program is to train students as responsible citizens and
qualified people by imparting critical thinking and understanding the society and culture at the
regional level generally and the international level particularly. The students will be able to
comprehend the freedom struggle of their ancestors, the importance of independence and the
value of a sovereign state. Further, the mission of the Pakistan Study program is to promote a
sense of citizenship, and tolerance and acknowledge diversity through the promotion of research
culture – critical thinking, complex reasoning, and freedom of expression in the students.
Scope of BS Pakistan Studies (4 Years Model)
The scope of the Pakistan Studies program aims to provide a historical approach to the historical
events unfolded on the world stage by adopting the current trends of Pakistan Studies in
academia. Study of national identity and patriotism, socio-cultural aspects, political structure,
economic development, geo-strategical study and contemporary issues like terrorism and
extremism, socio-economic disparities, environmental challenges and conservation efforts,
technological advancements, and their impact on society, foreign relations are some of the main
features come under the domain and scope of Pakistan Studies Program.
