A session titled “Bridging the Gap between Knowledge and Society” was held in the Senate Hall of Aror University. The distinguished writer and civil society professional, Mr Naseer Memon, served as the keynote speaker. He illuminated the topic by tracing the historical context and drawing connections between Europe during the Dark Ages and its present state. Mr Memon discussed the transformation that has occurred in bridging the gap between knowledge and society in Europe and he linked it with the prevailing situation in Pakistan, mainly in Sindh. He emphasized the crucial role of higher education institutions, particularly universities, as catalysts for providing knowledge. Mr Memon commended Aror University for its efforts in narrowing the knowledge gap in northern Sindh.

Dr Qasim Sodhar, Head of the Faculty of Heritage, delivered a warm welcome and expressed appreciation for Mr. Memon’s intellect and his contributions to society. At the conclusion of the session, Prof. Dr Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice-Chancellor of Aror University highlighted the importance of universities in knowledge creation, citing how major cities like Oxford have gained renown primarily due to the universities located within them. He remarked that Aror University represents a beacon of hope, assuring that its graduates will not simply be job seekers, but will instead create job opportunities for others.

The session was moderated by Mr Shafique Ahmed Khan, Lecturer History. The session was concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and shields as tokens of appreciation for the esteemed guests: Mr Naseer Memon and Mr Ayaz Gul, the renowned poet and writer who also honored the session with his presence.
