Center for Climate Equity and Human Resilience (CCEHR)

An institutional platform at Aror University for climate-related research, capacity building, community engagement, policy research and the development of evidence-based solutions.

About the Centre

The Centre for Climate Equity and Human Resilience (CCEHR) is Aror University’s institutional platform for research, capacity building, and community engagement on climate change. It brings together interdisciplinary expertise to address the challenges facing Sindh and its most vulnerable communities, translating research into practical, evidence-based solutions.

Established in 2026, CCEHR works at the intersection of climate science, architecture, heritage, water and livelihoods — reflecting the University’s broader academic strengths — while building partnerships that connect local knowledge with national and international research networks.

Objectives and Mandate

  1. Promote interdisciplinary research on climate change, adaptation, mitigation and resilience, and address climate-related challenges affecting Sindh and vulnerable communities.
  2. Link climate research with architecture, design, heritage, water, livelihoods and sustainable development.
  3. Facilitate national and international research collaborations and competitive funding, and organize conferences, seminars, training and awareness programmes.
  4. Produce research publications, policy briefs and other knowledge products, and engage government, industry, NGOs, development partners and communities.

Strategic Partnership

The Centre builds on the existing collaboration between Aror University and the University of Portsmouth, UK, under the MoU signed on 22 June 2026, and may develop further partnerships with other national and international universities, research organizations and stakeholders.
