BS Textile Design
To inspire the textile and apparel industry of Pakistan, fostering entrepreneurship and promoting craft uplift through new materials, innovative dyeing and weaving techniques, and the unique cultural persona embedded in every thread of the social fabric.
Textile design is an interface between materials and making that creates a challenging and dynamic environment. The department maintains hand looms, block printing, manual screen printing, and dyeing of fabric and yarn facilities. Textiles is an ancient craft that, when entering the domain of Design, touches unfathomable depths of creativity — fabric construction, surface treatments, color, pattern, and trend forecasting form the basics for a textile designer, alongside an ethical and conscientious design practice.
Students study textile and color theory, weave types, and fabric patterns, while gaining hands-on knowledge of CAD software and hand weaves. Project-based learning is used throughout to help students build their abilities and portfolios.
