Biography

Dr. Muhammad Tahir Lakhiar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur, Pakistan. He obtained his PhD in Structural Engineering from Monash University, Australia. Prior to joining Aror University, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tsinghua University, China, where he conducted research on sustainable cementitious composites and environmentally friendly construction materials. Dr. Lakhiar's research focuses on sustainable construction materials, waste valorization and circular economy, structural and fiber-reinforced composites, and life cycle assessment (LCA) for low-carbon infrastructure. His work integrates experimental investigations, microstructural characterization, numerical modeling, and sustainability assessment to develop innovative and durable construction materials using industrial, agricultural, and marine waste resources. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals, including Composite Structures and Construction and Building Materials. His research has received significant international recognition and has contributed to advancing sustainable and resilient infrastructure. In addition to his research activities, Dr. Lakhiar is actively involved in teaching, curriculum development, outcome-based education (OBE), and engineering accreditation initiatives, while supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in structural and materials engineering.
