Biography
Dr. Zahid Ali is a Lecturer in the Department of History and Pakistan Studies at the Faculty of Heritage, Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur, where he has been serving since 7 November 2022. He belongs to District Ghotki, Sindh, Pakistan.
Dr. Ali earned his Ph.D. in History from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, in 2026. His doctoral dissertation, titled "Scheduled Castes in Pakistan: A Historical Perspective," examines the historical evolution, legal status, political representation, and socio-economic conditions of Scheduled Castes in Pakistan. He also completed his M.Phil. in History from Quaid-i-Azam University in 2019, with a thesis entitled "Politics of the Muslim League in Sindh: 1937–1947." Earlier, he obtained an M.Sc. in History (2016) from Quaid-i-Azam University, a Master's degree in English (2014), a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), and a Bachelor of Arts (2012) from Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Mir's.
Dr. Ali has over seven years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Prior to joining Aror University, he served as a Lecturer at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad (2022). He also taught at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, during the Fall Semester of 2021, and served as a faculty member at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, from 2020 to 2021.
His teaching and research interests include Scheduled Castes and religious minorities in Pakistan, constitutional and legal history of Pakistan, political and socio-economic history, modern history of Sindh, Muslims in South Asia, minority rights, political representation, inclusive governance, subaltern studies, and intersectionality. His research particularly focuses on marginalized communities, social exclusion, citizenship, identity, and state policies in Pakistan.
In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Ali actively contributes to academic governance at Aror University. He serves as a Member of the Board of Studies (BoS) for the Department of History and Pakistan Studies and is also a Member of the Board of Faculty, representing the History and Pakistan Studies discipline.
Dr. Ali is committed to promoting quality teaching, historical research, and critical inquiry in the field of history/Pakistan studies.
