Biography
Fatima Jaffar is an Artificial Intelligence educator, researcher, and lifelong learner driven by a passion for innovation and meaningful impact. As the first Software Engineer in her family and the first woman in her extended family to pursue a PhD, her academic journey reflects resilience, determination, and a commitment to breaking barriers through education.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, and her Master's degree in Computer Science from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, where her research focuses on Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Agentic systems.
As a lecturer, she is passionate about making Artificial Intelligence accessible, engaging, and practical. She teaches courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Database Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Programming, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and hands-on learning.
Her research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, Computer Vision, Time Series Analysis, and AI-driven solutions for education and software engineering. She believes technology should not only advance innovation but also create opportunities that empower communities and inspire future generations—especially young women to pursue careers in STEM.
