Biography
Muhammad Furqan is a PEC-registered Civil Engineer from Sindh, Pakistan, with professional experience in Construction management, and climate-resilient infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate diploma in Construction Management and BIM.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to the planning, design, supervision, and quality assurance of canals, dams, bridges, roads, buildings, drainage systems, water-supply schemes, and WASH facilities. He has worked on major infrastructure and flood-recovery projects, including the Darel-Tangir Expressway, Kachhi Canal, Sorra Dam, Noulong Dam, and rehabilitation initiatives supporting communities affected by the 2022 floods in Sindh. His responsibilities have included structural and hydraulic design, BOQ preparation, tendering, contractor-bill verification, QA/QC, procurement, contract administration, and construction planning.
He is proficient in engineering and project management software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ETABS, SAP2000, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Primavera P6, and MS Project. His research interests include BIM, digital twins, AI-assisted infrastructure management, structural health monitoring, and climate-resilient design.
Muhammad is passionate about combining engineering expertise with emerging technologies to develop safer, smarter, and more sustainable infrastructure. His long-term goal is to contribute to resilient development in Pakistan, particularly by addressing flooding, water scarcity, and infrastructure challenges in vulnerable and underserved communities.
