Assistant Professor – Faculty of Fine Art

Biography

Musadiq Badar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, Hunan Normal University, China, where his research focuses on traditional folk practices, cultural innovation, and the cultural significance of Pakistani truck decorative art. He earned his Master of Arts in Art and Design, majoring in Public and Environmental Design, from Chongqing University, China, in 2020, and his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from the Centre of Excellence in Art & Design, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, in 2012. Musadiq’s academic and professional experience spans art, design, teaching, and cultural research. He has worked as a freelance designer and previously served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for undergraduate sculpture courses at Chongqing University under Dr. Guo Xuanchang. Since joining the university in 2022 as one of its pioneer faculty members, he has contributed to the development of the Visual Arts program, curriculum planning, and academic administration. He has also served as Program In-Charge, Syndicate Member, and an active member of the Board of Studies, supporting curriculum enhancement and academic standards. His teaching and research interests include visual arts, visual culture, folk art, cultural heritage, traditional decorative practices, and contemporary approaches to art education.
