Biography

Shaheen Fatima is a Lecturer in the Department of Textile Design at the Faculty of Design, Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur. She is a textile designer, educator, and researcher with expertise in textile design, surface design, art education, curriculum development, and creative pedagogy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Textile Design from Shaheed Allahbux Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritages, Jamshoro, a Diploma in Fashion Design from Karachi School of Arts, and a Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. She also completed her Master of Arts in Art Education from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, graduating with Distinction in Research. She has further strengthened her professional expertise through specialized training in graphic design and digital media. Prior to joining Aror University, she served as a Lecturer in the Department of Textile Design at Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages, Jamshoro. She also gained valuable industry experience as an Associate Designer at Soorty Textiles, one of Pakistan's leading textile manufacturers. As an academic, she teaches a range of undergraduate courses in textile design, including surface design, printmaking, textile techniques, computer-aided design, and design research. She is actively involved in curriculum development, quality assurance, academic planning, and student mentoring, contributing to the advancement of design education at Aror University. Her research interests focus on art education, curriculum design, prison education, creative rehabilitation, community-based art practices, textile innovation, and sustainable design. Her master's research centered on developing a structured art and design curriculum for correctional institutions in Sindh to foster personal development, creative expression, and social reintegration through art education. Her work has been recognized with distinction and has been presented at national and international academic forums. In addition to teaching, she contributes to academic quality enhancement, curriculum development, and departmental governance through her involvement in various university committees and Boards of Studies. She is dedicated to advancing design education by fostering innovation, research excellence, and community engagement.
